Founded over five decades ago, NACUA provides legal support for administrators and attorneys on accredited, nonprofit campuses throughout the United States, Canada, and beyond. Headquartered in Washington, DC, the association is dedicated to developing a range of programs, reaching out to new and existing institutional members, and expanding its networking and continuing legal education resources. With more than 4,000 volunteer members, NACUA grants access to a number of free e-publications and the collective experience of its members to further knowledge and professional development.
In addition to continuing legal education workshops, online courses, and virtual seminars, NACUA also hosts a popular annual conference. Attended by hundreds of member attorneys, the conference addresses challenges and changes in the industry, from general issues to specific elements of the profession. In 2015, the 95 sessions and events during the five-day annual conference were overseen by more than 200 moderators and professionals. To reach as many attendees as possible, the conference provided several workshops specifically designed for people new to the field and separate roundtables for experienced general counselors.
